Odds to win the 2017-2018 College Football Championship

The College Football betting odds expect the National Champions, Clemson Tigers to have a significant drop off. Losing QB Deshaun Watson hurts their chances. But they will rebuild. The rest of College landscape will fall in line with what Alabama does as a favorite once again.

The Tide has the blueprint to be back in the National Championship game. But there are several teams that will be exciting for the upcoming season. A new wave of players should give us a tremendous season. And of course, it’s never too early to see the Odds to win the 2017-2018 College Football Championship

Alabama Crimson Tide: 13/4

It was a disappointing season for Alabama. They were so good and so close, but it didn’t happen this time. Nick Saban and the rest of the Tide are poised for another run, and the pay per head sportsbooks know it.

New play-caller Steve Sarkisian will try to improve the offense around quarterback Jalen Hurts. Sarkisian overprotected Hurts in the National Championship game and it cost them. WR Calvin Ridley will be back and so is the unstoppable force, Bo Scarbrough.

The tools in the offense are set for them to take the unit to the next level.

The defense needs to replace defensive ends Jonathan Allen, linebackers Reuben Foster, Ryan Anderson and Tim

Williams. But Alabama usually finds out the way to recruit pure talent.

Florida State Seminoles: 8/1

Quarterback Deondre Francois had a good season as a redshirt freshman after throwing for 3,350 yards and 20 touchdowns. Last season the pay per head bookies expectations were sky high, but they didn’t deliver. Head coach Jim Fisher won allow another season with the same outcome; especially with the talent they have.

Florida State’s biggest issue is to find a replacement for Dalvin Cook at running back. He holds the school’s career rushing record.

Ohio State Buckeyes: 17/2

To get shutdown by the Clemson Tigers was an embarrassment for Urban Meyer and his coaching staff. His team was a year to early in 2016-17, but they will be loaded in the upcoming season.

The offense is the main task for Meyer. He hired Kevin Wilson (play-caller) and Ryan Day (QB coach) to help QB J.T. Barrett (2,555 passing yards, 24 TDs). Running back Mike Weber is expected to carry with most of the offense.

He needs to become one of the nation’s best tailbacks.

Ohio State’s biggest challenge in the calendar is to face the Wolverines at Michigan. They will host Penn State and Oklahoma.

Oklahoma Sooners: 17/2

The Sooners own the Big 12. They are aiming for a third consecutive Conference Championship. The problem goes when they need the talk about the playoffs hit the stage. The Conference actually hurts their chances.

The price per head services‎ will be looking closely to quarterback Baker Mayfield. He will be behind perhaps the best offensive line in the nation. Running backs Abdul Adams and Rodney Anderson should take advantage of it, putting big numbers right from the first weekend.

Oklahoma will be tested, and that’s a good thing. The Sooners will go on the road to face Ohio State, Kansas State, and Oklahoma State next season. Their experienced roster could steal a few of those wins and put their name back in the College Football playoffs landscape.

USC Trojans: 17/2

The USC Trojans had an up and down year in 2016.  Head coach Clay Helton should be better in his second year on the job. After starting 1-3 this season, Sam Darnold at quarterback saved the day in the second half of the year.

Darnold exploded with 3,086 yards and 31 touchdowns and added 250 yards and two touchdowns on the ground. He won’t hold back in his second year.

Ronald Jones will help a lot as a running back after posting 1082 yards on the ground. USC will miss JuJu Smith to the NFL. But the Trojans always find talent outside the numbers.

If they keep Cornerback Adoree’ Jackson for one more season, they will be set to have a big year on defense.

LSU Tigers: 14/1

Head coach Ed Orgeron needs to fix the offense. For about a decade LSU has been known for having a stellar defense and a no so sexy offense. The quarterback position is an issue. Danny Etling hasn’t shown much to say he’s the definitive answer at the position.

On defense expect End/linebacker Arden Key to lead the SEC in sacks in 2017. He should make a huge splash this season.

Louisville Cardinals: 14/1

After a Heisman Trophy-winning campaign, quarterback Lamar Jackson expects to have the same success as his sophomore season. Jackson was nearly unstoppable in the first half of the 2016 season. He didn’t find the same success in the second half. It’s going to be fun to see the pph sportsbooks adjusting to his insane abilities every week.
