College Basketball Odds and Predictions Wednesday, December 28 Edition

On Wednesday Night at least 12 games will have Top-25 teams making an appearance in College Basketball. For now, let’s focus on three fascinating matchups. Remember the bookmaker software usually send out the NCAAB betting lines on the previous night. Then you get at least 24-hours to review the spread and make the best decision.

The Depaul against Villanova game has two Big East teams going in different directions. Nova is a title contender while the Blue Demons need to pull a big effort to compete in this one.

Virginia against Louisville is definitely the best game of the night. Two teams that will make some noise in March are still trying to find their best level. Despite it’s only December, one can tell both the Cavaliers and the Cardinals already know their strengths and weaknesses.

Last but not least will be UCLA visiting Oregon. Call me crazy, but I think the Bruins have a lot of pressure to sustain their unbeaten run. The Ducks can play with that in their favor.

These are the College Basketball Odds and Predictions Wednesday, December 28 Edition:

Depaul Blue Demons (7-6) at Villanova Wildcats (12-0)

  • Game Time: Wednesday, December 28 | 6:30 PM ET
  • Stadium: The Pavilion, in Villanova, Pennsylvania
  • TV: FS1

It’s a bad week for the Blue Demons to visit the best team in the Nation. Depaul has lost four of their last six outings, including the last two. They are not only visiting an undefeated Villanova team, but the Wildcats have won 12 in a row without breaking a sweat. The pph sportsbooks have as much respect for the Wildcats as the rest of the nation. Depaul just had bad luck facing them exactly when they are hot.

The one thing Depaul can do is score points. They average 73.0 points per game. If they find ways to get consistent stops, they might be in the game late. Of course, that premises need a lot of effort. The Blue Demons allows 70.2 points per game, which is not amongst the best in the country. The Missouri State Bears and the Wyoming Cowboys beat the Blue Demons in their last two outings.

Depaul is 7-6 straight up and 4-9 against the spread this season. They will enter this meeting by covering the College Basketball spread just once in the last five games.

Villanova is unbeaten this season with a 12-0 straight up record and 8-4 against the spread. They are 2-0 against the spread on the road and 8-4 ATS when labeled favorites by the price per head sportsbooks.

The Wildcats score 80.8 points per game. Although their last win against the American Eagles it saw a 90-points effort, with 50 points coming in the second half. Nova allows 61.2 points per game. That number is inflated from their up-tempo pace, which forces opponents to push the ball down the court.

Consider Villanova has won the last ten games in the series. The Wildcats have covered the spread in seven of those ten wins. Depaul, however, covered the NCAAB betting spread the last time they met in March. Nova won 83-62, but the Blue Demons cashed as 22-points dogs. Nine of the past 10 games in this series have gone OVER the game total.

College Basketball Predictions: Villanova.

Virginia Cavaliers (10-1) at Louisville Cardinals (11-1)

  • Game Time: Wednesday, December 28 | 7:00 PM ET
  • Stadium: KFC Yum! Center, Louisville, Kentucky
  • TV: ESPN 2

Either Virginia or Louisville will end up with the second loss of the season after Wednesday Night. Louisville is the favorite not only because they play at home, but because they have different ways to get the win. The Cardinals have won six in a row, including a 73-70 nail-biter against Kentucky in their last outing. They improved to 11-1 straight up and 8-2 against the spread this season.

Louisville is also unbeaten at home both straight-up and against the spread. The bookie business has taken a hit every time Louisville plays at home. The Cardinals are one of the best teams in the nation with home court, posting an 8-0 against the spread mark so far. Louisville scores 78.0 points per game. Nevertheless, their best asset comes on the board. They get 44.6 rebounds per game. That’s the sixth-best number in the country. Not allowing opponents to get easy second chances is one of the blueprints of coach Rick Pitino.

Virginia’s blueprint is their defense. No team is more discipline than the Cavaliers on the defensive side, and the sports bookies know it. They allow 47.2 points per game. That number is the best in the entire College Basketball world. The Cavaliers also play a slow tempo offense that takes opponents out of rhythm. Even so, they manage to average 69.8 points every night. The Cavs are 10-1 straight up and 7-3 against the spread this season. They are 2-0 ATS on the road.

This game should be a close one. Don’t expect the pay per head services to make Louisville a double-digit fav. After all, Virginia’s defense has gained a lot of respect over the last few years.

College Basketball Predictions: Louisville by 5.

UCLA Bruins (13-0) at Oregon Ducks (11-2)

  • Game Time: Wednesday, December 28 | 9:00 PM ET
  • Stadium: Matthew Knight Arena, Eugene, Oregon
  • TV: ESPN 2

The second best game of the Wednesday’s lineup will have two Pac-12 teams clashing in Eugene, Oregon. UCLA is the second-ranked team in the nation, and they will have a tough visit to Oregon. The result will tell a lot about the Bruins and what the online bookie software can expect going forward.

UCLA is also undefeated with 13 wins. They are 10-3 against the spread and just 1-0 ATS on the road. We have no idea if the Bruins are for real. But a Conference game on the road in the middle of the week could revel plenty of information.
The Bruins average 95.8 points per game; the second best number in the nation. Like Louisville, UCLA took down Kentucky in a close one. Their win over the Wildcats is the only one they have against a ranked opponent. The one thing going their way is Kentucky was the number one team in the country when they beat them.

Oregon can score as well. The Ducks average 78.3 points per game. They will enter this meeting with nine wins in a row. Their 11-2 straight record is third-best in the Pac-12. The problem on betting the Ducks is they are 4-8 against the spread. This will be only the second time they will jump on the court as the underdogs.

The College Basketball betting spread says Oregon has won seven of the last 10 ten games against UCLA. The Ducks covered the spread in this seven wins, including the last two meetings; both played in 2016.  Seven of the past 10 games in this series ended UNDER the game total, including the last five.

College Basketball Predictions: Oregon with the points.
